Project Update: New Cupboards for Pitter Patter and Zama Educare   We’re so happy to share that new cupboards have been installed at Pitter Patter and Zama Educare, our partner schools in Dunoon! This means classrooms are now neater and more organized. We’ve likely created the space the children and teachers really needed. For the children, it makes a real difference to learn and play in a calm, clear environment. And for the teachers, it brings peace of mind and more focus.

In December 2024 we had our first local event in Cape Town with a team from Hilti South Africa. The team collected clothes, toys and stationery during the Advent season and an incredible number of full boxes were donated. The Schnauzkrauler Verein is a leisure association from Switzerland that implements a social project every year. For 2024, they have chosen Saam Education as a partner and supported us in designing graduation gifts for our partner schools and sending them to South Africa. In spring 2024, we applied for the LGT Award for Social Engagement and by June we were one of three finalist organizations that were allowed to give a presentation to a jury in the second round. In December 2023, our entire team was finally together in Cape Town. We visited our two partner schools and distributed Christmas presents to the children. We were finally all on site and were able to play with the children. We also visited the construction site of Zama Educare and were blown away by the progress! It was an incredible experience for the whole team and we are already looking forward to our next visit in 2024!

We are incredibly proud to announce that we have been nominated for the youngCaritas Award 2023! On November 20th was the Children's Rights Day. To mark the occasion, two elementary school in Switzerland and Liechtenstein organized a charity run for us. The children were able to run as many laps as possible and for each lap, sponsors donated a certain amount. It was incredible to see how children in Switzerland and Liechtenstein wanted to help the children in South Africa. The graduating classes of the formatio private school in Triesen organized a vintage market together with us in their last week of school. The motto: Students help students. As motivation, Gianna and Vanessa gave a presentation showing who Saam Education is and what the money is used for. Gianna was there all week on site and answered questions, sorted clothes and helped set up and run the event. The classes also provided food and entertainment. A lot of clothes were donated,

The Äule primary school in Vaduz, where Irina went to school, came to us with an idea to support Saam. The 5th graders had rehearsed a musical that was about Africa. They wanted to use the occasion to collect donations for Saam. The municipality of Vaduz even doubled the amount collected.
