For the children at Zama Educare in Dunoon, life is often limited by the boundaries of the township; busy streets, cramped spaces, and very few chances to see the world beyond.
Many of these children had never left the township or seen the ocean. With their principal, Thulani, they spent a day at the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation in Cape Town, discovering marine life, learning about ecosystems, and beginning to understand how they are connected to the world around them.
At Saam Education, we were glad to cover the costs to make this visit possible. Learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom, it happens when children explore, experience new things, and begin to see the bigger world they live in and their place within it.
Experiences like this help broaden horizons and inspire children to dream bigger — something every child deserves!
If you’d like to help create more moments like this, please get in touch or follow our work.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
