A Milestone for Football, Community, and Social Impact

On Friday, July 4th, the first-ever CUP OF HOPE Liechtenstein took place, and what a day it was. Together with our partners, supporters, and the wider community, we brought a proven charity football format to Liechtenstein for the very first time, and the response exceeded all expectations.

The story began in May 2025, when Fabian Stempel reached out to explore how our organizations could join forces. It quickly became clear that we shared the same vision: creating greater impact through collaboration. Together with Young Bafana Soccer and Young Bafana DACH, we set out to bring the CUP OF HOPE, an established charity football tournament from Cape Town, to Liechtenstein for the first time.

Sport has a unique power to connect people across borders, build bridges, and demonstrate what is possible when communities come together. That belief became the foundation of everything we built over the following months.

What followed were around eleven months of preparation, including countless meetings, phone calls, and no shortage of creative problem-solving behind the scenes. On July 4th, all of that effort culminated in a truly unforgettable day. Eight teams took part in the inaugural CUP OF HOPE Liechtenstein, competing not only for sporting success but also for a shared mission: creating opportunities for children and communities through the power of sport. Their participation highlighted how football can bring people together while creating a meaningful social impact far beyond the game itself.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity and commitment of our sponsors, partners, and volunteers. Special thanks go to our on-site helpers, first aid team, security staff, photographers, and videographers, and above all to the Municipality of Triesen and FC Triesen for providing the venue and supporting us throughout the day.

We are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support shown by everyone involved. It is a clear sign that this event has a bright future in Liechtenstein.
